The prefabricated bridge that you may have seen floating up and down the East River is officially being installed today. The new Wills Avenue Bridge will replace the 109-year-old span across the Harlem River. In a story from NBC New York, city Transportation Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan commented that while the new bridge might not be the iconic Brooklyn Bridge this new Wills Avenue bridge is a work horse and will carry more than 70,000 vehicles a day from Harlem to the South Bronx. It is not every day that we see a new bridge floated into place and ready for use in such a short amount of time. You can read the full story here.
