We have heard of Toys For Tots around the holidays but one local non-profit is collecting for a different age group. Union Settlement has decided to collect blankets to pass out to the elderly during the holiday season. The group would like to collect about 270 blankets, each costs about $15. They plan to pass out the blankets to those who are fed meals by the Meals On Wheels programs, most of whom can not fully care for themselves. You can donate to the cause here.
