Corbin Hill Road Farm in Harlem is Delivering Farm-Fresh Produce to Harlem This Winter

via Harlem World

Corbin Hill Road Farm (“Corbin Hill”) is announcing its first ever Winter Farm Share, which will deliver fruit and vegetables from upstate New York farms to communities throughout Harlem and the Bronx.

The Corbin Hill Farm Share specializes in the needs of low-income communities living in “food deserts” (areas without access to fresh food). The Summer Farm Share, now at the end of its second season, delivers over 500 shares each week to 16 distribution sites. Starting on December 13th, 2011, the Farm Share will also run in the winter when the majority of CSAs and farmers’ markets are not operating. Deliveries will be on a monthly basis beginning in December and running through April. Corbin Hill will be the first year-round supplier of local produce with a specific emphasis in communities like Harlem. It will be offering a special subsidized price for the Winter Farm Share to those eligible for SNAP benefits. READ MORE >>>

The Winter Share starts on December 13th, and their monthly deliveries go through April 2012. (From June to November 2012, we deliver weekly), check out the list of their distribution sites:
